Senior QA Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior QA Engineer to ensure the stability, security, and performance of our E-Wallet platform. In this role, you will champion a Shift-Left Quality Culture, seamlessly combining manual exploration, system impact analysis, and robust API/UI automated testing. You will work closely with developers, architects, and product teams, acting as both a quality gatekeeper and a mentor to elevate engineering standards across the board.

Key responsibilities

• Drive Shift-Left testing, TDD, or BDD practices alongside developers to ensure business logic, edge cases, and non-functional requirements are covered from the early design phase
• Design and execute comprehensive test plans tailored for an E-Wallet ecosystem, covering payment gateways, fund transfers, top-ups, ledgers, and financial security
• Conduct thorough Impact Analysis on API, Database, and Microservices changes to design targeted and efficient regression test suites
• Build, maintain, and scale automated test suites (with a strong emphasis on API Automation, complemented by Web/Mobile UI tests) integrated into CI/CD pipelines
• Validate transaction idempotency, race conditions, double-entry ledgers, and audit logs to ensure zero financial discrepancies
• Perform deep-dive debugging using server logs and observability tools; facilitate Mini RCA sessions with cross-functional teams to prevent issue recurrence
• Guide and mentor junior QA team members, establish QA peer-review processes, and elevate the overall technical capability of the team

About you

• 4–5+ years of hands-on experience in Software Testing, QA Engineering, or Test Automation
• Direct experience working with FinTech, E-Wallet, Banking, or Payment Gateway platforms dealing with high concurrency and financial transactions
• Strong proficiency in API Testing & Automation (e.g., Postman/Newman, or Playwright) within a Microservices architecture
• Familiarity with UI/Mobile automation tools (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, Appium, or Robot Framework)
• Solid hands-on experience with Database Querying (SQL / NoSQL / Redis) to verify transaction states, balances, and data consistency
• Practical experience with Log Analysis and Observability tools (e.g., Kibana, Grafana, Datadog, or ElasticSearch) for troubleshooting complex backend issues
• Good understanding of Financial Security Standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, Encryption/Decryption, Tokenization) and basic Performance Testing principles
• Clear communication and negotiation skills; ability to explain complex technical defects in simple business terms and professionally negotiate bug priorities
• Proactive problem solver who actively suggests structural solutions and process improvements
• Collaborative leadership style; ability to collaborate effectively, remain open to feedback, and lead by example without needing formal authority
