What they need
The role
We’re looking for a hands-on Senior QA Engineer to strengthen quality across a portfolio of applications and the workflows that connect them. You’ll be part of a cross-location test team and work with engineers, product owners, and other stakeholders across teams, learning the systems and business domains well enough to focus testing where it reduces the most risk. Our landscape includes message-driven, distributed systems, so effective testing must account for behavior across services and asynchronous workflows.
You’ll shape how features are tested from refinement through release: clarifying expected behavior, identifying risks and testability gaps early, exploring the product, and building maintainable automated coverage. This is an independent role with broad influence, not a role limited to executing test cases or producing automation for its own sake.
Our existing test estate is primarily C#/.NET, Gherkin-based BDD with Reqnroll, and Azure DevOps pipelines. It includes both API and browser-based tests, with Selenium in established suites and Playwright in selected projects. You don’t need to know every tool on day one, but you should be comfortable improving an established automation landscape and choosing the right level of testing for the risk.
What you’ll do
- Partner with product and engineering teams during refinement to clarify acceptance criteria, edge cases, dependencies, and testability.
- Create a risk-based test approach for features and end-to-end workflows spanning multiple applications and services.
- Perform exploratory and structured manual testing where human investigation is the best way to find important defects.
- Build and maintain reliable automated tests at the appropriate levels, with a focus on API and integration coverage as well as critical UI journeys.
- Extend and improve our C#/.NET test suites and BDD scenarios; use browser automation such as Selenium or Playwright where it provides meaningful coverage.
- Integrate tests into Azure DevOps pipelines so teams get fast, actionable feedback, and diagnose flaky or slow tests rather than normalizing them.
- Use API contracts and tools such as Swagger and Postman to investigate behavior, validate integrations, and support test setup.
- Investigate defects with engineers, contribute to root-cause analysis, and use findings to improve test coverage and prevent recurrence.
- Improve test data, environment use, diagnostics, and reporting so failures are reproducible and useful to developers.
- Take responsibility for quality across application releases: coordinate release testing, ensure critical risks and defects are visible, and provide a clear readiness recommendation based on evidence and agreed criteria.
- Use Azure DevOps test plans or suites where they help coordinate coverage and provide traceability.
What you’ll bring
- Significant hands-on QA experience testing complex applications and integrations.
- Strong testing judgment: you can select techniques based on risk, avoid relying on UI automation for every check, and explain what remains untested.
- Practical experience designing and maintaining automated tests in a modern development and CI environment.
- Experience with C#/.NET and at least one browser automation framework, such as Selenium or Playwright.
- Experience testing APIs and service integrations, including using tools such as Swagger or Postman.
- Familiarity with BDD and Gherkin. Reqnroll or SpecFlow experience is an advantage.
- Experience working with CI pipelines and test reporting; Azure DevOps experience is an advantage.
- The communication skills to collaborate across teams, raise quality risks early, and make evidence-based recommendations.
- Curiosity and independence: you can learn unfamiliar systems and domains, find the right people and information, and prioritize your work without needing a prescriptive daily task list.
What success looks like
- Important risks and ambiguous requirements are surfaced before they become late-cycle surprises.
- Automated checks provide fast, trustworthy feedback and cover high-value API, integration, and user journeys.
- Test failures are diagnosable, and flaky tests are actively investigated and improved.
- Teams share a clear view of coverage, known risks, and release readiness.
Experience in financial-services domains such as crypto and fiat payments, trading, lending, staking, digital-asset custody and wallets, or client and business operations is valuable, but not required. We value strong QA fundamentals, practical engineering skills, and the ability to learn the domain as you work with the teams.
What we offer:
- Expertise: Work with crypto native experts
- Culture: Positive and supportive team culture that relies on common goals, ambitions and values
- Activities: Regular team events and activities
- Ownership: High level of autonomy and responsibility
- Fitness: Multisport Card
- Location: Office location in the new Bratislava downtown (Jurkovičova tepláreň)
- Home Office
- Workation: Enjoy the flexibility of working across designated EU countries, with up to 20 days a year to combine work and travel
What the interview process looks like
- initial phone call
- 1st round online interview
- 2nd round in-person technical interview in Bratislava (travel expenses covered by us)
