Senior QA Engineer

Overview A growth-stage logistics technology business is hiring a Senior QA Engineer to work fully remotely from Brazil on a PJ contractor basis. The package includes stock options, a computer stipend, flexible PTO, and national holidays off.

This is the first dedicated QA hire the business has made, which means the person coming in won't be slotting into an existing practice - they'll be building it. Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute test cases for edge cases, error states, and unhappy paths that go beyond standard automated coverage
• Manually test tickets throughout the week as they are completed, not only in the window before release
• Test features using invalid data, unexpected action sequences, and boundary conditions to surface defects standard functional testing misses
• Maintain and extend the shared test automation framework, adding automated coverage for the edge cases and failure modes found during manual testing
• Perform full regression testing ahead of each weekly release across web and mobile, and write clear, reproducible bug reports engineers can act on
• Use AI tools, including Claude, to accelerate test case design, exploratory testing, and bug investigation
• Flag gaps in automated test suites so coverage improves release over release
• Build the QA processes, playbooks, and standards the team will operate from going forward

Requirements Must-haves

• 5+ years of professional manual validation for web applications
• Deep expertise designing test scenarios for error states and edge cases
• Proven track record finding defects via boundary conditions, invalid data, and non-standard workflows
• Experience in high-velocity, weekly release environments with a consistent testing cadence
• Hands-on experience maintaining and extending automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium
• Practical use of AI tools to speed up exploratory testing and bug analysis
• Proficiency with Jira or TestRail for detailed, actionable defect reports
• Exceptional English communication for daily collaboration with US and Brazil teams

Nice-to-haves

• Experience testing across both web and mobile
• Background building QA processes or playbooks from scratch
• Experience as a first or founding QA hire
