About the Role

We're hiring a Senior QA Engineer to test creative automation pipelines that turn design templates and assets into finished marketing creative at scale. One action in an intake table can kick off queues, state machines, Photoshop API jobs, and review steps in Frame.io, and your job is to make sure every one of those handoffs does what it should, especially when something goes wrong.

You'll join the creative technology team of a global AI-first technology consultancy, working on a production program for a major enterprise client. The current use case is static display banners built largely from Photoshop outputs. Motion graphics and video use cases are next in the pipeline, so video tooling experience is a real plus.

This is a remote contract role open to candidates in the US or Latin America. It suits a methodical tester who enjoys tracing a bug across five systems and finding the edge case nobody planned for.

What You'll Do

• Test asynchronous, event-driven workflows end to end, from Airtable intake through AWS orchestration, Photoshop API rendering, and Frame.io review and approval
• Validate idempotency, de-duplication (duplicate approval webhooks, for example), race conditions, and queue throttling
• Negative and resilience testing: network blips, expired tokens, corrupt or oversized source media, missing manifest keys, and simulated API limits
• Verify circuit breaker behavior, including threshold triggers, queue pausing, slot release, and admin recovery
• Build deterministic tests that confirm caches invalidate when they should and never serve stale files
• Probe file and folder sync edge cases like URL-encoded filenames, duplicate folder names, version stack collisions, and in-progress uploads
• Trace execution logs, correlation IDs, and failure payloads in AWS to pin down whether a failure came from intake, a timeout, or a tripped breaker
• Review rendered output with a designer's eye: typography, safe zones, CTA placement, disclaimers, and AI crop or generative expand behavior across aspect ratios
• Log clear, reproducible Jira defects with full asset and log context

Qualifications

• 5+ years in QA or SDET roles, ideally in digital media workflow engineering, ad-tech production, creative automation, or cloud integration testing
• Hands-on experience testing distributed, asynchronous pipelines where actions trigger background jobs and webhooks
• Comfort navigating AWS services such as SQS, DynamoDB, Step Functions, Lambda, and S3
• Practical knowledge of Airtable field types, formulas, automations, and status-driven triggers
• Working knowledge of Frame.io as a review and approval surface, including version stacks, status hooks, share links, and API authentication and rate limits
• Solid understanding of Photoshop internals: artboards, smart objects, layer hierarchies and masks, text layers, and bounds
• Ability to validate renditions across PSD/PSB, JPG, PNG, and GIF
• Familiarity with Photoshop APIs and smart object replacement
• Strong Jira habits, and defect reports someone else can reproduce on the first try
• A sharp eye for typography and display ad production standards
