Background

Food Angel is a food rescue and food assistance program launched in 2011 by Bo Charity Foundation with the mission of "Waste Not, Hunger Not, With Love". The program rescues edible surplus food from different sectors of the food industry that would otherwise be disposed of as waste. Following strict safety protocols, the rescued food items will then be prepared as nutritious hot meals in our central kitchens and be redistributed to serve the underprivileged communities in Hong Kong.

This position is responsible for supporting and enhancing our Food Safety Management System (ISO 22000:2018), ensuring compliance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements, and driving continuous improvement in food safety and quality standards across the organization.

Responsibilities :
Support the QA Manager in driving the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Food Safety Management System (ISO 22000:2018).

Conduct food safety, operational, and process risk assessments and follow up improvement actions with relevant departments.

Lead investigations of food safety, quality, and workplace incidents; identify root causes, recommend corrective and preventive actions, and prepare investigation reports.

Monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions and ensure timely closure of non conformities.

Conduct regular facility inspections, including sanitation, hygiene, pest control, and GMP compliance reviews.

Oversee supplier and vendor quality performance and follow up on quality-related issues.

Perform product quality assessments and monitor critical control points throughout the manufacturing process.

Coordinate internal and external audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections, ensuring timely preparation and follow-up.

Manage laboratory testing programs, equipment calibration schedules, and related quality documentation.

Review and maintain food safety and quality records, SOPs, work instructions, and food safety documentation.

Support the development and delivery of food safety and quality training programs to employees at all levels.

Analyze quality trends and KPI data, and recommend improvement initiatives.

Provide guidance and coaching to junior QA team members.

Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Quality Assurance, or a related discipline.

Solid knowledge of ISO 22000:2018, HACCP, GMP, and food safety management systems.

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in food manufacturing, food production, or quality assurance, preferably with experience in audit coordination.

Experience in handling customer, certification, or regulatory audits is an advantage.

Strong understanding of food safety regulations and quality control processes.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Chinese Word Processing.

Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects under pressure.

Proactive, mature, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining high quality standards.

Passionate about social services and community impact.
