Job Title: Senior Quality Control Inspector

Location: Pune, India

Mission

Ensure that all tubular products and premium threads manufactured in the facility meet quality requirements and international specifications. Responsible for rigorous inspection, documentation, calibration management, and proactive HSE compliance to safeguard customer satisfaction, product integrity, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine safety inspections, risk assessments, and promote HSE culture.
• Apply and maintain 5S standards within the threading cell.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Inspect, test, and measure materials, workpieces, and finished products using gauges and instruments.
• Evaluate conformance to specifications; accept/reject products accordingly.
• Place nonconforming products on hold, ensure tagging, segregation, and reporting.
• Prepare and maintain gauges required for inspection activities.
• Record inspection results accurately and maintain traceability documentation (COC, MTR, gauge booking).
• Support calibration activities and ensure instruments remain within valid calibration status.
• Recommend improvements in inspection methods and defect prevention.
• Provide technical guidance to junior inspectors and support root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with production, technical, sales, and suppliers/customers on quality matters.

Qualifications & Experience

• ITI/Diploma in Mechanical or Precision Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years of quality inspection experience in machining, turning, milling, drilling, or related operations.
• Minimum 3 years experience with premium threading inspection (VAM).
• Proficiency in precision inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, dial indicators).
• Functional English communication skills (reading, writing, reporting).

Skills

• Proficient in measurement instruments and inprocess audits.
• Understanding of machining processes and calibration basics.
• Knowledge of threading technology (API/BTC/EUE).
• Expertise in premium threading technology (VAM TOP®, NEW VAM®, VAM® 21, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail, autonomy, discipline, and consistency.
• Effective communication and teamwork; willingness to mentor junior inspectors.
