Senior Quantity Surveyor

About the role

T.A.G. Construction Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a strategic position within our estimating and contracts function, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate cost management, financial planning, and project profitability across our demolition, earthworks, and reinstatement portfolio. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of project costs from initial estimation through to final account settlement, directly contributing to the success and reputation of our organization across multiple construction projects.

Key responsibilities

1. Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender documentation for demolition, earthworks, and reinstatement projects of varying scales and complexity
2. Conducting thorough site investigations and measurements to inform accurate cost assessments and project valuations
3. Analysing specifications, drawings, and project requirements to determine material quantities, plant utilisation, disposal costs, and labour costs
4. Managing contract documentation, including terms, conditions, and variations to ensure financial compliance
5. Monitoring project budgets and expenditures, providing regular financial reports to senior management and clients
6. Liaising with main contractors, consultants, sub-contractors, and suppliers to gather information and resolve cost-related queries
7. Preparing monthly progress claims, interim valuations, and final accounts for project completion and settlement
8. Preparing and negotiating Variation Orders (VOs) with main contractor QS
9. Identifying cost-saving opportunities and recommending value engineering solutions without compromising quality or safety
10. Maintaining accurate records of all costs, variations, and contractual amendments throughout the project lifecycle

What we're looking for

1. Demolition and/or earthworks QS experience will be good.
2. Minimum 5 years of Quantity Surveying experience in Singapore, on the contractor side
3. Formal qualification in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related construction discipline (degree or diploma)
4. Working knowledge of PSSCOC, Security of Payment Act (SOPA), and BCA regulatory processes
5. Proficiency in construction estimating and take-off software such as Bluebeam Revu or PlanSwift, plus advanced Microsoft Excel skills
6. Excellent numerical and analytical abilities with meticulous attention to detail
7. Proven ability to manage multiple tenders and projects simultaneously whilst maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with main contractors, consultants, and sub-contractors
9. Experience in preparing tender documents and cost plans for competitive bidding processes
10. Knowledge of building regulations, WSH requirements, NEA disposal requirements, and cost implications
11. Professional membership with a recognised body such as RICS or equivalent local qualification is advantageous but not required
