Senior Quantity Surveyor

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial cost management across a diverse project portfolio including new builds, remediation and refurbishment. You’ll own the commercial process from early-stage estimating through to final accounts, working closely with project managers, designers and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare early-stage estimates, cost plans and budgets
• Manage tender processes: documentation, analysis, negotiations and recommendations
• Oversee contract administration, variations, payment claims and cost reporting
• Drive value engineering and procurement strategies
• Manage subcontractor relationships and commercial risk
• Lead final accounts, claims resolution and close-out
• Mentor junior QS/CA staff and support broader commercial capability

What you’ll bring

• 7+ years’ QS experience in NZ commercial construction
• Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related field
• Strong IT skills (measuring, take-offs, cost planning)
• Solid contractual knowledge
• Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
