Senior Quantity Surveyor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team at STCS Transportation Sdn Bhd in Bukit Mertajam, Penang. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for providing strategic oversight and expertise in construction cost estimating and management, playing a crucial part in the success of our projects.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities for construction projects
• Analysing tender submissions and providing recommendations on contract awards
• Monitoring and controlling project costs, identifying potential savings and mitigating cost overruns
• Advising on contractual matters and interpreting contract documents
• Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve the best commercial outcomes
• Providing expert advice and support to project managers and other stakeholders
• Contributing to the development and implementation of cost control processes and procedures
• Mentoring and training junior quantity surveyors within the team

What we're looking for

• 8+ years of post-qualification experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally in earthwork and building construction industry （preferably working experience in main contractor)
• Strong understanding of construction cost estimation, contract administration, and project cost control
• Conduct site measurement
• Proficient in the use of AUTOCAD and other quantity surveying software
• Prepare and submit progressive claim and interim payment certificate
• Reviewing and verifying work complete
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with a focus on delivering practical, cost-effective solutions
