Quantity Surveyor – Tier One Construction Company Experience

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Quantity Surveyor with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience, including previous experience working with a Tier One construction company. The successful candidate will be responsible for the commercial management, cost control, contract administration, and financial performance of major construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost estimates, and tender documents.
• Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and measurements for construction works.
• Manage project costs, budgets, valuations, and financial forecasts.
• Prepare interim payment applications and payment certificates.
• Evaluate variations, claims, and additional works.
• Review subcontractor and supplier quotations and payment applications.
• Manage subcontractor accounts and assist with contract negotiations.
• Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets.
• Prepare regular cost and commercial reports for management.
• Assist in tendering, procurement, and contract administration.
• Monitor and manage variations, claims, and final accounts.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, engineers, and subcontractors on commercial matters.
• Identify potential cost overruns and recommend appropriate cost-control measures.
• Ensure proper documentation and records of all commercial and contractual matters.
• Support project management teams in achieving commercial and financial objectives.

Requirements

• B.Sc./B.Tech. in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience.
• Previous experience working with a Tier One construction company is mandatory.
• Experience in large-scale infrastructure, road construction, civil engineering, or major construction projects is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost control, measurement, valuation, and commercial management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant Quantity Surveying/measurement software.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Professional membership of NIQS or another recognized professional body is an advantage.

Pay: From ₦400,000.00 per month
