Senior Quantity Surveyor

SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR (SENIOR QS)

Motagane Chem Works is seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team on an 8-month fixed-term contract.

POSITION DETAILS

• Position: Senior Quantity Surveyor (Senior QS)
• Contract: Fixed-Term – 8 Months
• Minimum Experience: 8 Years – Strictly No Less
• SACQSP Registration: Advantageous
• Closing Date: 24 August 2026

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities and tender documents.
• Conduct quantity take-offs, pricing and detailed cost analysis.
• Manage project budgets, costs and cash flow.
• Evaluate tenders, quotations and subcontractor proposals.
• Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets.
• Prepare valuations, payment certificates and variation orders.
• Manage subcontractor and supplier commercial matters.
• Identify and manage project cost risks.
• Review contracts and ensure commercial compliance.
• Prepare monthly cost reports and cost forecasts.
• Assist with final accounts and project close-out.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants and project teams.
• Provide commercial and cost-management advice to management.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 8 years’ relevant Quantity Surveying experience – strictly no less.
• Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying.
• Strong experience in estimating, costing and tendering.
• Proven experience in construction/project environments.
• Strong understanding of contracts, variations, valuations and cost control.
• Excellent numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong MS Excel and QS software skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

ADVANTAGEOUS

• SACQSP Registration.
• Experience in industrial, chemical, mining or engineering-related projects.
• Experience working on large-scale construction projects.
• Professional membership with relevant industry bodies.
