Senior Quantity Surveyor

About the role

This role involves preparing cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQs), and budgets for construction projects, managing tendering processes, and monitoring project costs to ensure projects stay within budget. You will conduct site measurements and valuations, liaise with contractors, clients, and consultants on cost-related issues, and assist in contract administration.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQs), and budgets for construction projects
• Manage tendering processes, including preparing tender documents and evaluating bids
• Monitor project costs and track variations to ensure the project stays within budget
• Conduct site measurements and valuations for interim payments and final accounts
• Liaise with contractors, clients, and consultants on cost-related issues
• Assist in contract administration, including reviewing contracts and managing claims
• Review and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in contract management
• Provide advice on cost-effective solutions and potential risks to senior management
• Prepare financial reports and cost forecasts for project stakeholders

About you

• Minimum Diploma/Degree holder in Building/Quantity Surveying/Civil/Structural Engineering
• At least 6 years of relevant working experience in the Construction industry
• Good knowledge of construction sequences and material trends
• Independent with excellent problem-solving skills, detailed and a good team player
