Senior Quantity Surveyor

Your new company:

An established and growing civil construction contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its team. With a strong pipeline of projects across residential land development, commercial infrastructure, and private civil works, this is an opportunity to play a key role in the successful delivery of diverse and challenging projects. Working alongside experienced project and site teams, you'll be responsible for ensuring the commercial performance of projects from tender through to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing estimates, cost plans, and tender submissions
• Managing project budgets and cost reporting
• Contract administration and commercial management
• Procurement of subcontractors, suppliers, and materials
• Assessing and managing variations
• Preparing progress claims and final accounts
• Tracking project costs, forecasting, and identifying financial risks
• Supporting project teams with commercial advice and guidance
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders

What you'll need to succeed:

• At least 4 years NZ experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil construction, infrastructure, or land development projects
• Strong commercial acumen and contract administration skills
• A sound understanding of NZ construction contracts and industry practices
• Experience managing variations, claims, and project financial performance
• High attention to detail and strong analytical capabilities
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach
