Senior Quantity Surveyor

Our client is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor ready to step up and take ownership of a wider commercial function, leading an established team while driving commercial strategy, contracts, pricing and risk across the business.

You'll take ownership of the commercial function, providing leadership and oversight across projects while ensuring the business is commercially protected and positioned for continued growth.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and developing the commercial and estimating team
• Driving commercial and pricing strategy
• Negotiating major contracts and subcontract terms
• Identifying and managing contractual and financial risk
• Providing commercial oversight across live projects
• Managing disputes, variations, claims and contractual issues
• Working closely with the MD on commercial performance, pipeline and risk
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, main contractors and industry stakeholders

About you We're looking for someone operating at the senior end of the QS market who combines strong technical commercial knowledge with the ability to manage people and relationships.

You'll ideally bring significant senior QS or commercial leadership experience within New Zealand construction, along with strong knowledge of NZ construction contracts.

Strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills are a must. Just as importantly, you'll need the ability to deal tactfully and confidently with clients, contractors and key stakeholders, particularly when navigating challenging commercial conversations.
