Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Newbridge, EH28

Salary: Competitive, Depending on Experience

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Hours of Work: (Monday-Thursday 0800 – 1630, Friday 0800 - 1530)

Henshaw Facades are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team and play a key role in the successful delivery of a portfolio of high-value façade and building envelope projects.

Working for an established façade subcontractor, you will take commercial responsibility for projects from pre-contract through to final account, working closely with project management, procurement, design and site teams to maximise commercial performance and ensure projects are delivered profitably.

This is an excellent opportunity for an existing Senior Quantity Surveyor or a Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step in in their career.

Key responsibilities:

• Take full commercial responsibility for allocated façade projects from pre-contract through to final account.
• Manage and administer subcontract obligations, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
• Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, cash flow and cost reports
• Monitor project performance against budgets and identify commercial risks and opportunities
• Prepare, submit and negotiate monthly applications for payment
• Manage variations, compensation events, change control and commercial claims
• Review and agree subcontractor and supplier accounts
• Manage procurement and ensure costs remain aligned with project budgets
• Prepare and negotiate final accounts
• Maintain accurate commercial records and provide regular reporting to senior management
• Work closely with Project Managers, Contracts Managers, Design Managers and site teams to resolve commercial issues.
• Support the preparation of tenders, budgets and cost plans where required
• Mentor and support junior Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, main contractors and suppliers

Candidate Qualifications:

• BSc in Quantity Surveying
• Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
• Strong understanding of construction contracts (NEC, JCT & SBCC) and commercial processes
• A positive attitude, excellent attention to detail and the ability operate well using own initiative
• Excellent problem solving and time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
