Senior Quantity Surveyor (Construction)

Position : Senior Quantity Surveyor
Salary : RM4,000-RM6,000
Location : JWA Design & Build, Plaza YLY, Jalan Tuaran Bypass Inanam

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all quantity surveying and contract administration activities for assigned projects.
• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, Bills of Quantities (BQ) and tender documents.
• Evaluate tenders, quotations and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Prepare and manage subcontract agreements and purchase orders.
• Monitor project costs, cash flow and budget performance.
• Prepare progress claims, payment certificates, variation orders (VO) and final accounts.
• Review and verify subcontractors' progress claims and invoices.
• Administer contracts in accordance with contract terms and project requirements.
• Identify contractual risks and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams on contractual and commercial matters.
• Prepare cost reports, financial forecasts and project cost analyses for management.
• Ensure proper documentation and record keeping for all contractual matters.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to QS team members.
• Support project teams in cost control and value engineering initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations and relevant regulations.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying within the construction or design & build industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost control, procurement and contract administration.
• Experience in tender preparation, variation orders, progress claims and final account settlement.
• Familiar with standard forms of construction contracts.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experience with QS software is an added advantage.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Possess a valid driving licence.
