What you'll be doing?

• Manage projects: Independently oversee quantity-surveying and commercial activities, from tender stage through final account.
• Prepare and review: Develop and assess cost estimates, budgets, cost plans, and cash-flow forecasts.
• Document preparation: Create tender documents, bills of quantities, and quotation evaluations.
• Assess claims: Prepare and evaluate progress claims, payment certificates, variation orders, and final accounts.
• Contract administration: Administer subcontract agreements and manage contractual matters with subcontractors.
• Cost monitoring: Track actual project costs against budgets, providing accurate forecasts and reports.
• Risk management: Identify potential cost overruns, contractual issues, and commercial risks, escalating significant matters.
• Stakeholder communication: Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams on cost and contract matters.
• Record keeping: Maintain accurate commercial records and documentation.
• Mentorship: Guide junior QS team members, reporting to the Commercial Manager or QS Manager.

Who are they looking for?

• Educational background: Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent, essential for this role.
• Experience: Substantial relevant experience in the construction industry, with the ability to manage QS requirements independently.
• Skill set: Strong knowledge in measurement, cost control, tendering, progress claims, variation orders, and final accounts.
• Skills: Excellent analytical, negotiation, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Language proficiency: Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia, English, and Chinese is crucial for effective communication with diverse stakeholders.
