Senior Rail Engineer / Technical Director

We are seeking a senior rail engineer for a confidential, founding technical leadership role.

What you'll do

• Design and lead field trials, including site selection, monitoring and data analysis
• Prepare method statements, risk assessments and technical submissions for rail owners' engineering approval
• Develop application methodologies suited to Australian rail profiles and conditions
• Produce technical reports and present results to asset owners' engineering teams
• Coordinate independent validation of results
• Shape technical standards for rollout across Australian networks

You'll bring

• 15+ years in rail track or permanent way engineering, with heavy-haul experience highly regarded
• Chartered engineer status (CPEng / NER) or equivalent
• Strong knowledge of track condition and rail stress management
• Familiarity with hazardous chemical management and site chemical registers under the WHS Regulations (Safe Work Australia, WorkSafe WA), and the introduction requirements of the Australian Industrial Chemicals Introduction Scheme (AICIS)
• Experience on the asset owner side approving new products or technologies is highly regarded
• Credibility with rail operators and comfort presenting to senior engineering stakeholders
