Senior R&D Engineer

We are seeking a Senior R&D Engineer with strong expertise in wireless power transfer and millimeter-wave (mmWave) wireless systems. The successful candidate will lead research and development of advanced RF, antenna, and mmWave technologies at our Hong Kong Science Park laboratory. This role is eligible for the HKSTP Research Talent Hub (RTH-SPC) programme with attractive monthly funding support.

Responsibilities

• Lead R&D projects on wireless power transfer technologies, including resonant wireless charging and mid-/long-range wireless power delivery
• Design and develop mmWave wireless data transmission systems operating between 30–300 GHz
• Conduct system-level simulation, RF/microwave circuit design, and performance optimization
• Develop innovative antenna structures and beamforming algorithms
• Build test setups and perform system-level measurements using VNAs, spectrum analyzers, and microwave test equipment
• Analyze experimental results and prepare technical reports, documentation, and research publications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate research outcomes into prototypes and product concepts
• Support patent applications and provide technical mentorship to junior engineers

Requirements

• PhD in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines; if the degree is earned outside Hong Kong, the awarding university must be ranked within the QS Top 100
• Strong research background in wireless power transfer, RF/microwave engineering, or mmWave systems
• Experience with EM simulation tools (HFSS, CST, ADS)
• Solid understanding of electromagnetics, RF circuit theory, antenna design, and microwave systems
• Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or C++ for modeling and algorithm development
• Hands-on experience with PCB design, RF testing, and measurement setups
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Fluent in English and Mandarin
