Senior Release Manager

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Release Manager to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space.

This role will oversee release execution across software engineering teams, with a focus on ensuring smooth production deployments and minimizing operational risk. The position will partner closely with engineering, stakeholders, and internal customers to coordinate complex releases, support automation efforts, and keep release processes moving efficiently. You will also help improve release visibility, communication, and process discipline in a fast-paced SaaS and cloud-native environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $110,000 – $170,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Manage production deployment execution, including issue resolution and escalation handling
• Coordinate engineering and stakeholder teams for complex releases
• Onboard internal customers to the release engineering platform
• Assist with requirements for automated release processes
• Communicate release status and updates
• Support the team with public communications
• Monitor release phase progress using metrics
• Document and refine processes to minimize release-related risks

Qualifications

• 5+ years of program or project management experience with software engineering teams
• Proven experience managing releases for SaaS or cloud-native platforms at scale
• Experience with distributed systems and microservices architectures
• Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to influence without authority across engineering and business teams
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and release automation tools such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions
