Senior Requirements Engineer

As a Senior Requirements Engineer at adesso Romania you’ll work in a collaborative environment with talented colleagues, helping shape software solutions in the financial services domain.

You’ll guide requirements from the initial idea through implementation and release. Working closely with business stakeholders, Product Owners and development teams, you’ll analyse business needs and translate them into clear user stories, acceptance criteria and actionable specifications. You’ll also support backlog prioritisation, clarify requirements during development and contribute to testing, functional acceptance and clear documentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage requirements throughout the entire lifecycle, from initial idea through implementation and release.
• Analyse business needs and coordinate requirements with stakeholders and business departments.
• Translate requirements into clear user stories, acceptance criteria and actionable specifications.
• Support the Product Owner with backlog maintenance and prioritisation.
• Work closely with developers to clarify requirements and support implementation.
• Assess the business and technical impact of changes across processes and systems.
• Support testing, functional acceptance and defect analysis.
• Use SQL to support requirements analysis and validate data where needed.
• Contribute to the analysis of data models, APIs and system interfaces.
• Maintain clear, consistent and traceable requirements documentation.

Must have

• Several years of experience as a Requirements Engineer, Business Analyst or System Analyst.
• Experience in banking or financial services, ideally in a financing environment.
• Proven experience analysing and specifying complex software solutions.
• Strong skills in requirements analysis and in writing user stories, acceptance criteria and business specifications.
• Good SQL skills, with an understanding of data models, APIs and system interfaces.
• Understanding of end-to-end processes and distributed system landscapes.
• Experience working in agile delivery environments.
• Experience with process analysis, process modelling and process optimisation.
• Experience using Jira and Confluence.

Nice to have

• Experience with credit and financing processes, such as loan applications, credit assessments, credit decisions or loan administration.
• Experience with Camunda or similar business process modelling tools.
• Experience supporting software testing, functional acceptance and defect analysis.
• Experience working in distributed or international teams.
