Senior Risk Analyst

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Risk Analyst to join an established PMO team supporting a large, complex transformation programme.

This role will work closely with Project and Programme Managers and external partners to provide risk and assurance oversight across transition and operational readiness activities. You’ll play an important role in making sure risks are identified and managed ahead of key milestones, stage gates and go-live.

What you’ll be doing

• Identify and assess delivery, transition and operational readiness risks.
• Work closely with Project and Programme Managers to ensure risks are actively managed and mitigations are completed.
• Provide independent risk and assurance oversight across transition activities.
• Develop and maintain readiness criteria, checklists, risk and assurance matrices.
• Monitor risks that could impact key milestones, stage gates and go-live.
• Provide clear risk and readiness reporting to senior stakeholders and governance.
• Analyse risk information and emerging trends and provide practical recommendations.
• Coach and support project teams to improve their risk and assurance practices.
• Work across multiple organisations and stakeholder groups in a complex delivery environment.

What we’re looking for

• Strong experience in programme/project risk and assurance, ideally within a large transformation programme.
• Experience with operational readiness, transition, implementation or go-live risk.
• Strong risk assessment and mitigation experience.
• Experience producing governance-level risk and assurance reporting.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence working with senior stakeholders.
• Ability to constructively challenge Project and Programme Managers when required.
• Experience developing risk frameworks, matrices, readiness assessments or assurance plans.
• Good experience using risk and assurance tools and reporting systems.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn complex information into clear recommendations.
• Experience in complex multi-agency, public sector or regulated environments would be beneficial.
