About 10Lines
10Lines is developing autonomous parking lot marking robots and cloud software that revolutionizes the line-marking industry. We are a fast-growing technology startup with big ambitions. Having secured investment to scale across key markets, we are looking for experienced technical talent to join us and build industry-changing technology together.
About the Role
As a Senior Robotics Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of our robotics software team, reporting directly to the Robotics Software Lead. You will contribute heavily to core modules within our software stack - focusing on autonomous navigation, state estimation, spatial localization, and multi-sensor perception.
Working closely with the Robotics Software Lead and the hardware engineering team, you will design, implement, and maintain high-performing software that enables our autonomous line-marking robots to operate with high precision in real-world outdoor environments.
This position is on-site at our Tallinn office.
Responsibilities
- Autonomous Navigation & Path Planning: Contribute to the design, implementation and tuning of autonomous navigation, path planning, motion control, and obstacle avoidance algorithms.
- Perception & Sensing Integration: Implement and maintain processing pipelines for machine vision and LiDAR data, leveraging them for real-world localization, mapping, and spatial awareness.
- Software Development: Write clean, modular and maintainable production C++ and Python code for core robotics, perception and navigation modules.
- Hardware & Sensor Integration: Collaborate with the hardware team to integrate and calibrate onboard sensors, ensuring reliable low-latency communication and execution.
- Software Quality & Testing: Participate in code reviews, contribute to testing in both simulation and physical field tests and help maintain high software engineering standards.
Required Qualifications
- Education & Experience: MSc/PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience, with 5+ years of professional experience in robotics software engineering.
- Core Languages: Hands-on experience with ROS1/ROS2. Advanced proficiency in Modern C++ (C++17/20) and fluent scripting in Python.
- Machine Vision & LiDAR Experience: Required hands-on professional experience working with both machine vision (2D/3D camera processing) and LiDAR (point-cloud processing, feature extraction, or sensor fusion).
- Navigation & Localization: Solid foundation in fundamental robotics concepts, including path planning, state estimation, SLAM and spatial transformations.
- Environment & Tools: Comfortable working in Linux environments with Git-based version control workflows.
- Collaboration & Communication: Excellent teamwork skills with a collaborative mindset to work effectively within cross-functional engineering teams.
Desirable Skills & Abilities
- Experience with multi-sensor extrinsic calibration and sensor fusion workflows, including INS integration.
- Knowledge on INS systems.
- Familiarity with high-accuracy outdoor mobile robots (AMRs) operating in dynamic environments.
- Knowledge of CI/CD for robotics, containerization (Docker)
- ROS1 to ROS2 migration experience
