About the roleThis is a hands-on Senior Roofer role for someone who knows their way around long-run roofing and can be trusted to get on with the job.

You’ll work across a variety of residential and commercial roofing and reroofing projects around Christchurch and Canterbury. You’ll be working alongside experienced roofers, with the freedom to use your skills and judgement rather than having someone constantly looking over your shoulder.

For the right person, there’s also the opportunity to take the lead on jobs, help bring less experienced roofers through and step up as the business grows.

Key responsibilities

• Long-run roofing and reroofing across residential and commercial sites
• Read plans and work confidently across the full roofing job
• Measure, prepare and install sheets, valleys, hips, ridges and flashings
• Complete guttering, Aquaseal and finishing work to a high standard
• Work through problems on site and keep jobs moving
• Maintain a safe, tidy and well-organised site
• Take the lead and support less experienced roofers when required

About youYou’ll be an experienced roofer who knows the trade and takes pride in doing the job properly. You can be trusted to get on with the job, use your initiative and work through problems without needing someone constantly telling you what to do next.

You’ll turn up, communicate well and enjoy working as part of a crew where everyone gets stuck in and does their bit.

You will likely have:

• Solid experience in long-run roofing and reroofing
• Experience across the full roofing job, including flashings and finishing
• Confidence reading plans and sorting out problems on site
• The ability to work independently and use your initiative
• Good knowledge of site health and safety
• Roofing qualifications and relevant tickets are a bonus, but knowing your stuff on the tools matters more
• Wall cladding experience would be a bonus
