Senior Sales & Application Engineer - based in Penang

Job Summary
This role will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, providing technical consultation to customers, supporting retrofit projects, and delivering energy-efficient solutions across industrial and commercial applications.

The ideal candidate should possess a strong engineering foundation with hands-on experience in technical sales, application support, or industrial equipment solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive sales growth by developing new business opportunities and expanding relationships with existing customers within the assigned territory.
• Provide technical consultation and application support to customers, including understanding requirements, recommending suitable solutions, and resolving technical issues.
• Identify potential retrofit and energy-saving opportunities involving HVAC and industrial ventilation systems, including AHU, FCU, cooling towers, evaporators, condensers, and related applications.
• Conduct site visits to perform technical assessments, equipment verification, measurements, and support project implementation activities.
• Support customers with technical troubleshooting and provide solutions related to product applications, system integration, and communication protocols.
• Work closely with consultants, contractors, system integrators, and end users to develop project opportunities and strengthen business relationships.
• Manage the complete sales cycle from opportunity identification, technical proposal preparation, quotation follow-up, negotiation, and project closure.
• Collaborate with internal engineering and sales teams to ensure timely delivery of customer solutions and services.
• Maintain strong relationships with key accounts and provide continuous support to enhance customer satisfaction and business growth.
• Promote energy-efficient solutions and innovative technologies to customers through technical presentations and product demonstrations.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering discipline, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related fields.
• Minimum 2 - 5 years of experience in technical sales, application engineering, sales engineering, or industrial equipment solutions.
• Candidates with experience in HVAC systems, ventilation equipment, rotating equipment, automation solutions, or energy-saving solutions will have an added advantage.
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical and/or electrical systems with the ability to analyze customer requirements and provide suitable solutions.
• Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers and stakeholders.
• Proficient in English communication, both written and verbal.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively.
• Self-driven, result-oriented, and comfortable with customer-facing responsibilities.
