Senior Sap Advanced Business Application Programming Developer

Role Summary

The Senior Application Developer is responsible for understanding business and customer requirements and translating them into robust, high-quality application functionality. The role combines core business-application development (including SAP/ABAP, interfaces and EDI) with data-warehouse engineering – designing and maintaining warehouse structures, data mappings and reporting feeds. The Senior Developer takes end-to-end ownership of solutions, defines technical specifications, and acts as a technical reference and mentor for junior team members. Although based at the China headquarters, the position works dedicated to the company's European operations – in particular LD – supporting their systems, interfaces and users.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop business applications and implement requirements that are not covered by standard software.
• Create and integrate contract-manufacturer software and program interfaces between systems.
• Build and maintain EDI connections to external business partners and handle NAV interface logic.
• Develop and support in-house programs, Z-transactions, layouts and forms within the SAP system (ABAP).
• Design, build and extend data-warehouse structures; create and update CDS views and data extraction/load procedures.
• Ensure data quality, accuracy and correct mapping between source systems, the data warehouse and data marts.
• Write technical specifications, document solutions and provide 2nd/3rd-level support for owned applications.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to architecture and code-quality standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: University degree (BSc) in IT, Telematics, Software Development or Computer Science; alternatively a Matura / vocational qualification in computer science or programming with equivalent experience.
• Work experience: minimum 3–5 years in a comparable application-development position.
• Relevant experience: business applications, software-systems implementation, software architecture and development, interfaces/EDI, reporting and consulting.
• Languages: Mandarin Chinese (fluent), English (professional working proficiency); German is an advantage.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.
