What they need

About Ministry Brands Ministry Brands is a leading provider of SaaS operational management systems, payments platforms, digital engagement tools and background screening solutions for purpose-driven organisations. We serve more than 95,000 customers as a trusted partner in digital transformation and enablement – advancing missions, driving efficiencies, and building engaged communities for more than four decades.

Our Galway R&D centre is Ministry Brands' global AI R&D hub and is in the middle of a major expansion as we deliver a multi-year AI-native transformation of our product portfolio.

About The Role Are you passionate about software quality and innovation? We’re looking for a talented Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products—leveraging cutting-edge AI tools to automate and enhance testing processes and supporting the delivery of next-generation agentic products to market.

You’ll work with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable, high-quality automated tests, while championing best practices and promoting a culture of excellence.

What You Will Do

  • Leverage AI tools (e.g. Claude, Copilot) to assist in the creation of test cases, unit tests, UI tests, and performance tests—accelerating automation and increasing coverage.
  • Develop comprehensive testing strategies for AI-based products, including testing agent responses, evaluating model reliability, validating data inputs and outputs, and ensuring overall system performance.
  • Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks using C#, Python, and/or TypeScript.
  • Implement and maintain automated testing frameworks and tools.
  • Develop and execute contract testing (e.g., PACT testing) to ensure seamless integration with external APIs and services.
  • Conduct manual testing where required, including functional, exploratory, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing, to identify issues that may not be captured through automated testing.
  • Collaborate closely with developers to understand requirements and identify potential issues early in the development lifecycle.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle—from planning and design to release and maintenance.
  • Promote a culture of quality by advocating for best practices and continuous improvement throughout the development process.

What You Bring

  • Proven experience using AI tools for test creation and execution, improving efficiency and accuracy in test automation.
  • Experience developing QA strategies for AI-based products, including evaluating agent responses and ensuring model fairness and scalability.
  • Strong hands-on experience with both manual and automated software testing, with the ability to determine the appropriate testing approach based on the feature, risk, and requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks and tools.
  • Experience with contract testing and tools like PACT.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with performance and security testing.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

Who You Are

  • Experienced: Proven track record in software development and testing.
  • Independent: Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Adaptable: Thrives in fast-paced environments with changing priorities.
  • Leadership Potential: Demonstrates a willingness to mentor and guide others, and to contribute to technical discussions.

What's In It For You At Ministry Brands, we invest in our people and provide the support, flexibility, and opportunities you need to do your best work and grow your career.
