You will work closely with senior leadership, cloud and infrastructure teams, software engineers, DevOps professionals, and security operations teams to embed security-by-design principles across technology initiatives. You will help shape security architecture, assess technology risks, support cloud transformation, and establish robust security standards across the organization.

The successful candidate will be confident communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and will have a strong understanding of enterprise security architecture, cloud security, identity, network security, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define security principles, standards, reference architectures, and technical controls across enterprise technology environments.
  • Lead security architecture reviews for new applications, infrastructure, cloud platforms, and technology projects.
  • Conduct threat modelling, security risk assessments, and architecture reviews to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Design secure cloud architectures across Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Develop and implement Zero Trust, Identity and Access Management (IAM), Privileged Access Management (PAM), and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) strategies.
  • Work closely with infrastructure, networking, application, DevOps, and cybersecurity teams to implement secure solutions.
  • Support vulnerability management, penetration testing, security remediation, and incident response initiatives.
  • Establish security requirements for applications, APIs, data platforms, networks, and cloud services.
  • Support compliance initiatives involving ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, Cyber Essentials Plus, PCI DSS, and other applicable standards.
  • Evaluate security technologies and make recommendations based on risk, business requirements, scalability, and cost.
  • Develop and maintain security architecture documentation, technical standards, roadmaps, and implementation guidelines.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to security engineers and other technology professionals.
  • Present security risks, recommendations, and architecture decisions to senior stakeholders.
  • Monitor emerging cybersecurity threats and technologies and recommend improvements to the organization's security posture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Significant experience in security architecture, cybersecurity engineering, enterprise security, or information security.
  • Strong experience designing security solutions across enterprise infrastructure, applications, networks, and cloud environments.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud security architecture.
  • Strong understanding of Zero Trust, IAM, PAM, MFA, SSO, encryption, network segmentation, and security controls.
  • Experience with enterprise security technologies including SIEM, EDR, firewalls, vulnerability management, and security monitoring platforms.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks including ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls, GDPR, and Cyber Essentials Plus.
  • Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD security, Infrastructure as Code, containers, and Kubernetes security is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of threat modelling, risk assessment, vulnerability management, and security testing.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to translate complex security risks into clear recommendations for senior business and technical stakeholders.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, SABSA, TOGAF, CISM, or relevant cloud security certifications are highly desirable.
  • Experience leading security architecture or transformation initiatives within complex enterprise environments.
  • Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
