Senior Security Engineer

Role Purpose

The Senior Security Engineer provides senior operational capability supporting day-to-day operation, reliability, and stability of enterprise security platforms used across the organisation. Working within the Information Security Service Delivery team, the role focuses on the operational management, configuration, and troubleshooting of security technologies that protect users, systems, and data across India and the organisations wider global environments.

The role works closely with Identity & Access Management, Network and Infrastructure, Modern Workplace Technology, Service Desk, and application teams to ensure security controls operate effectively in production environments. Architectural or major platform design changes are escalated to the Information Security Transformation team, where required.

Key Responsibilities

Security Platform Operations

• Operate and administer critical enterprise security technologies across the organisation.
• Take ownership of configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of assigned security platforms in production environments.
• Investigate operational issues affecting authentication, connectivity, or security tooling.
• Support upgrades, patching, and configuration improvements to maintain platform stability.

Operational Security Engineering

• Support the implementation and maintenance of security controls across identity, network, and endpoint platforms.
• Work autonomously with infrastructure and application teams to drive operational security issues through to resolution.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of security platform reliability and operational processes.
• Provide technical support for security incidents where platform expertise is required.
• Act as a technical escalation point for assigned security platforms and provide guidance to less experienced engineers where required.

Governance and Operational Assurance

• Maintain documentation and operational runbooks for security platforms.
• Report on platform stability and performance.
• Support internal audit, risk, and compliance processes relating to security platform operation.
• Ensure configurations remain aligned with organisational security standards and policies.
• Escalate architectural or design issues to the Information Security Transformation team when appropriate.
• Support operational handover and knowledge transfer across India, EMEA and APAC to strengthen cross-regional service resilience.

Technology Exposure

Strong hands-on experience with Secure Web Gateway and/or Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) technologies is required, preferably Zscaler. Experience with one or more of the following adjacent technologies is desirable:

• Identity and Access Management platforms (eg CyberArk, Microsoft Entra ID/Azure AD).
• Endpoint security technologies (eg CrowdStrike Falcon or equivalent).
• Web security and edge protection technologies (eg Akamai or similar).
• Cloud security controls within Proofpoint, Defender, Purview or similar cloud platforms.

Experience

• 7+ years’ experience working with enterprise IT or security technologies.
• Experience working within enterprise or regulated environments (financial services or military preferred).
• Operating and taking ownership of security platforms in production environments.
• Experience troubleshooting authentication, access, or connectivity issues.
• Exposure to identity management, network security, or endpoint security technologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills

• Strong independent troubleshooting and problemsolving capabilities.
• Ability to work across infrastructure, identity, and security teams.
• Understanding of core security concepts such as authentication, access control, and network security.
• Ability to support operational security services while maintaining compliance with security standards.
