Senior Simulation Engineer

Mechanical Simulation Engineer (AI, Digital Twin & CFD/FEA)

Location: Fremont, CA (Onsite)

Duration: 24-month contract with potential extension or conversion

Pay Rate: Up to $73.54/hour

Job Summary

We are seeking a Mechanical Simulation Engineer with expertise in CFD, FEA, AI-driven modeling, and digital twin development to support the design, validation, and optimization of advanced mechanical systems. This role will focus on developing high-fidelity simulation models, accelerating engineering analysis through reduced-order modeling, and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to improve product performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform CFD and FEA simulations to evaluate thermal performance, fluid flow, structural integrity, vibration, and mechanical reliability.
• Develop simulation models to support product design validation and engineering optimization.
• Create surrogate models, reduced-order models (ROMs), and AI/ML-based predictive models to improve simulation efficiency.
• Build and maintain digital twin models by integrating simulation results with test, operational, and sensor data.
• Automate simulation workflows, design of experiments (DOE), and optimization processes using scripting and scientific computing tools.
• Perform model validation, sensitivity analysis, uncertainty quantification, and parameter calibration.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and engineering documentation to communicate simulation results and recommendations.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, controls, manufacturing, and data science teams throughout product development.

Required Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computational Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or a related discipline.
• Strong experience with CFD and FEA simulation tools such as ANSYS Fluent, ANSYS Mechanical, STAR-CCM+, Simcenter 3D, or similar.
• Solid understanding of:
• Fluid mechanics
• Heat transfer
• Solid mechanics
• Numerical methods
• Engineering model validation
• Experience developing reduced-order models, response surface models, or simulation acceleration techniques.
• Programming experience using Python, MATLAB , or similar scientific computing environments.
• Experience with 3D CAD platforms such as Siemens NX, Creo, SolidWorks, or equivalent.
• Strong technical writing, presentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing digital twins for engineering or manufacturing systems.
• Knowledge of machine learning techniques applied to engineering simulations.
• Experience with optimization algorithms, physics-informed AI, or design-space exploration.
• Familiarity with high-performance computing (HPC), cloud-based simulations, workflow automation, or custom scripting.
• Experience within manufacturing, semiconductor, aerospace, automotive, energy, or other high-tech industries.
