Senior Site Engineer

We are seeking Intermediate and Senior Engineers who are open to working across major construction projects in Europe. These opportunities are available in: Amsterdam, Groningen, Viborg, Fredericia & Copenhagen.

Previous data centre experience is advantageous but not essential. We are particularly interested in candidates with strong main contractor experience and excellent technical knowledge.

About the Role

As a Senior Engineer , you will provide engineering leadership on site, managing setting out, dimensional control, quality assurance, and engineering delivery while supporting project teams and supply chain partners. You will be responsible for maintaining quality standards, overseeing temporary works coordination, and ensuring engineering activities are delivered safely and efficiently.

Intermediate Engineers will support the engineering team in setting out, quality control, surveying, documentation, and project delivery while gaining exposure to complex civil and structural packages.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate engineering activities on site.
• Manage setting out, dimensional control, and survey requirements.
• Oversee and mentor Site Engineers, Graduate Engineers, and Assistant Engineers.
• Ensure accurate as-built records and engineering documentation are maintained.
• Review and develop Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
• Monitor and manage quality control procedures and non-conformance processes.
• Issue and manage permits to break ground.
• Prepare and review method statements and risk assessments.
• Identify design or information gaps and manage RFIs effectively.
• Coordinate temporary works and support lifting operations where required.
• Maintain daily engineering records and project documentation.
• Work closely with project teams to ensure technical compliance and programme delivery.

Requirements

Essential Experience

• Strong experience working for a main contractor on large-scale construction projects.
• Excellent understanding of quality assurance, setting out, and site engineering processes.
• Experience with structural and civil engineering packages.
• Good knowledge of underground services and associated risk controls.
• Proven experience managing engineering documentation and quality records.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital project management systems.
• Stable employment history with a consistent project background.

Technical Knowledge

Experience with some or all of the following:

• Piling
• Geotechnical Works
• Substructures
• Waterproofing
• Concrete Works
• Drainage
• Structural Steel
• Brickwork
• Design Management Processes

Systems Experience

• A-Site
• Viewpoint for Projects
• Other digital construction management platforms

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering (BEng or equivalent)
• Temporary Works Coordinator training (desirable)
• Lifting Operations awareness training (desirable)
• CPCS Appointed Person qualification (advantageous)
• Scaffold Awareness / Inspection training (desirable)
• Planning and programming software experience
