Senior Site Manager

This is a well-established main contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex industrial, warehouse, and distribution facilities throughout New Zealand. With a healthy forward workload and a number of major projects in the pipeline, they are seeking an experienced Senior Site Manager to lead the on-site delivery of large-scale warehouse and logistics developments.

The Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme, and to the highest quality standards.

You will take ownership of all site activities, coordinating subcontractors, managing site teams, and driving programme outcomes while maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead site delivery from earthworks through to practical completion
• Manage site teams, subcontractors, and labour resources
• Drive project programme and coordinate construction sequencing
• Ensure health and safety compliance and foster a positive safety culture
• Conduct site meetings and coordinate with consultants and client representatives
• Monitor quality assurance processes and project documentation
• Identify and mitigate project risks and resolve site issues proactively
• Work closely with the Project Manager to achieve budget, programme, and quality objectives

About You

• Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager delivering large-scale industrial, warehouse, logistics, or commercial projects
• Strong understanding of structural steel, precast concrete, civil works, and large-scale building construction
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple subcontractors and complex site operations
• Excellent planning, coordination, and leadership skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Trade qualification or relevant construction management background preferred
• A hands-on leader who leads from the front and thrives in a fast-paced environment
