Senior Software Developer

We are seeking a Software Developer for our client in Johannesburg, Gauteng. involves writing, testing, and maintaining computer programs and web applications to solve business or user problems.

Requirements -

Grade 12

Strong foundation in computer science or system architecture, and a shift from writing isolated code to leading technical direction and mentoring team.

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology is common, though many companies accept equivalent practical work experience

language/ecosystem (such as C#/.NET, Java, Python, C++, or TypeScript/React) and relational/NoSQL databases

• System Design & Architecture: Designing scalable, secure, and modular enterprise applications rather than just implementing isolated features.
• Technical Ownership & Problem Solving: Taking full accountability for production systems, root-cause analysis, performance optimization, and refactoring legacy code.
• Mentorship & Collaboration: Guiding junior and intermediate developers through code reviews, pairing, and technical documentation.
• Stakeholder Translation: Bridging the gap between non-technical business requirements and complex engineering execution.
• Process & Quality Standards: Enforcing best practices in automated testing (unit/integration), CI/CD pipelines, and security (such as OWASP guidelines)
• Design, develop, test and deploy features, APIs and integrations across the four platforms.
• Provide technical leadership, code reviews, mentoring and production incident support
• Lead development of core workflows, including maintenance, merchant onboarding, billing, claims and vehicle disposals.
