The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced, forward-thinking, process improvement, automation and systems-minded Senior Software Developer to help modernise how our business operates.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving business problems through technology. You'll help digitise manual processes, build smart automations, improve data quality and support core business systems by developing custom solutions and integrations using the latest Microsoft and web technologies.

This isn't a typical IT developer role. We need someone with strong technical expertise who can engage business stakeholders directly, improve internal systems, optimise workflows and deliver solutions that move the business forward.

You'll be comfortable working across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering through to deployment and continuous improvement, while building practical solutions that create measurable business value.

Responsibilities & Key Tasks

Development

• Own full SDLC delivery, from requirements gathering through deployment, support and optimisation.
• Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain business applications using the latest Microsoft and web technologies.
• Develop bespoke applications, automations and integrations to improve business efficiency.
• Build robust front-end and back-end solutions using modern development frameworks.
• Gather and interpret business requirements, translating them into clear technical solutions.
• Develop REST APIs and integrations between internal and third-party systems.
• Document systems, applications, processes and technical solutions.
• Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for business-critical applications and systems.

Process Improvement & Digitisation

• Map existing manual, paper-based and spreadsheet-driven processes across the business.
• Work closely with stakeholders to redesign workflows and improve ways of working.
• Eliminate manual tasks through automation and digital solutions.
• Design and implement digital forms, workflows and approval processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve data quality, process efficiency and user experience.
• Maintain process documentation, SOPs and change logs.
• Lead continuous improvement projects from concept through to implementation.

Systems & Business Support

• Support and enhance core business systems and interfaces.
• Act as a trusted technical expert across business-critical applications.
• Solve complex technical issues and identify root causes.
• Develop practical, scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Support system integrations, data flows and reporting requirements.
• Work collaboratively with operational teams to improve business performance through technology.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential

• Full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience.
• Power Apps, Power Automate and Robotic Process Automation (RPA).
• Python development experience.
• Modern JavaScript frameworks.
• REST API development.
• Strong SQL Server development and database skills.
• Good general IT knowledge across hardware, operating systems, databases, networking, Microsoft 365 and cyber security.
• Experience working end-to-end from requirements gathering through to deployment.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.

Desirable

• Dynamics 365 Business Central experience.
• Microsoft Fabric and Data Warehouse development experience.
• Manufacturing or FMCG experience.
• Agentic AI and MCP development experience.
• Experience supporting digital transformation programmes.

You'll enjoy understanding how businesses work, identifying inefficiencies and building practical solutions that make people's jobs easier. You're equally comfortable writing code, talking to stakeholders, analysing data and driving continuous improvement projects.
