Lakbyte is a consultancy that helps international remote workers move to Spain. Since 2023 we have secured more than 900 Digital Nomad Visa approvals, and we also handle Non-Lucrative Visas, family and partner applications, and the post-arrival paperwork that comes with settling in Spain.

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Software Developer to improve how our team works through internal software, integrations, automation and practical AI applications. You will work closely with our founder and operations team to identify bottlenecks, build solutions and maintain reliable systems.

What you’ll do

• Develop and improve internal applications, databases, forms and workflows.
• Connect business applications and automate repetitive tasks and communications.
• Build AI-assisted tools for knowledge retrieval, document processing and drafting.
• Maintain system reliability, data accuracy and appropriate access controls.
• Evaluate existing systems and coordinate with external developers.
• Document your work and help the team adopt improvements.

Must have

• 5+ years of software development experience, with independent ownership of business applications or internal systems.
• Strong full-stack development, database design and API integration skills.
• Experience building reliable automations across business applications.
• Practical experience integrating AI into applications, including validating outputs.
• Sound judgment around sensitive data, system security and human review.
• Clear English and the ability to turn operational needs into practical solutions with minimal supervision.

Nice to have

• Experience as the sole or lead developer in a non-tech business.
• Familiarity with low-code tools, document generation or OCR.
• Experience taking over existing systems.
• Background in legal services or other document-heavy industries.
