Senior Software Engineer — AI & Workflow Automation

About the Role

We're hiring a versatile, hands-on engineer who can own projects from concept to deployment. You'll be automating internal workflows, embedding AI into our products and processes, and building/maintaining websites and internal tools that keep the company running efficiently. This is a high-impact role for someone who wants real ownership and variety in their day-to-day work.

What You'll Do

• Design and build automated workflows that eliminate manual, repetitive work across the company.
• Integrate AI/LLM capabilities (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar APIs) into internal tools and customer-facing products.
• Develop, maintain, and improve company websites and web applications.
• Build custom internal tools to support teams across the company (ops, sales, support, etc.).
• Evaluate and implement automation platforms and AI tooling (e.g., Zapier, Make, n8n, LangChain, or custom-built solutions).
• Collaborate with founders/leadership to identify opportunities where AI and automation can save time and improve outcomes.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code and take ownership of projects from planning through deployment.
• Troubleshoot, monitor, and continuously improve existing systems and tools.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern backend language (e.g., Python, Node.js, or similar) and JavaScript/TypeScript for the web.
• Hands-on experience integrating AI/LLM APIs into real products or workflows.
• Proven experience building workflow automations (custom scripts or platforms like Zapier, Make, n8n, etc.).
• Solid front-end development skills (React or similar) and experience building/maintaining production websites.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and deployment (AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar).
• Comfortable working independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• A builder's mindset — comfortable wearing multiple hats and moving fast.

Nice to Have

• Experience with vector databases, RAG pipelines, or fine-tuning models.
• Familiarity with no-code/low-code automation tools.
• Prior experience at a startup or in a small, high-ownership team.
• Experience with prompt engineering and AI agent frameworks.
