#WeAreParamount on a mission to unleash the power of content… you in? We’ve got the brands, we’ve got the stars, we’ve got the power to achieve our mission to entertain the planet – now all we’re missing is… YOU! Becoming a part of Paramount means joining a team of passionate people who not only recognize the power of content but also enjoy a touch of fun and uniqueness. Together, we co-create moments that matter – both for our audiences and our employees – and aim to leave a positive mark on culture.
Overview The Data Products Team within the Data Insights Group (DIG) at Paramount Global builds the internal platforms that power how the business understands streaming performance, audience behavior, and content strategy. We own the applications, APIs, and automation systems that analysts and stakeholders rely on daily.
You'll join a small team with outsized impact, working across NextJS applications, FastAPI services, and AI-powered workflows. We build and ship quickly, and the tools we create are used immediately across the organization. If you want to own products end-to-end and see your work drive decisions at scale, this is that type of role.
What You'll Do
- Architect and build internal web applications using NextJS and FastAPI
- Design and own backend services and REST APIs that power automation tools and AI-driven features
- Partner with data engineers to integrate BigQuery pipelines and metadata systems into user-facing products
- Drive features from concept through production, owning technical design, implementation, and reliability
- Solve ambiguous problems across the stack, balancing delivery speed with maintainability
- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and technical guidance
- Define and champion engineering standards around code quality, testing, and system design
- Shape the technical roadmap and architectural decisions as the team scales
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of software development experience building internal tools or data-driven applications
- Strong proficiency in Python and modern JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience architecting production web applications with React or NextJS
- Experience designing and scaling REST APIs (FastAPI, or similar)
- Deep knowledge with SQL and cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake), including performance optimization
- Proven ability to own systems end-to-end: design, deployment, monitoring, and iteration
- Experience mentoring engineers and spearheading engineering standards
- Strong communication skills with non-technical stakeholders
Additional Qualifications
- Experience with workflow orchestration systems (Airflow, Prefect, Dagster) at scale
- Hands-on experience building production AI solutions, including agents, agentic workflows, and RAG systems
- Deep knowledge with LLM frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, Google ADK) and their tradeoffs
- Experience integrating LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) into production, including prompt engineering and cost management
- Strong background in containerization and cloud infrastructure (Docker, Kubernetes, GCP/AWS)
- Background in data engineering, pipeline design, and building tooling for analysts
- Experience in media, entertainment, or streaming industries
How We Work
- Small team, direct access to stakeholders, short feedback loops. As we grow, you'll shape our technical direction and engineering culture.
