Senior Software Engineer - Angular, React Native

We are seeking a Frontend Developer (Angular and React Native) to join the engineering team behind our Angular web portals and Expo / React Native member application, a production platform serving more than 1 million members daily across web, iOS, and Android. This role works under the guidance of senior engineers and contributes to day-to-day feature delivery, bug fixes, accessibility, and testing across a mature, long-tenured codebase. This is a hands-on coding role focused on learning the codebase, building strong engineering habits, and growing into more independent ownership over time.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Feature delivery

• Implement well-scoped features, bug fixes, and UI changes under the direction of senior engineers, following established patterns for state management, navigation, and API integration

• Contribute to Angular web portal features and shared UI-library components using TypeScript, Angular templates, services, routing, forms, RxJS, and established state-management patterns

• Implement accessible, responsive interfaces for web, iOS, and Android experiences while following the team design system and established UI patterns

• Write clean, tested code and respond constructively to PR feedback

• Learning the codebase

• Build familiarity with the platform architecture: Angular applications and shared libraries, the React Native app, Context/hooks, Expo Router-based navigation, and established API-integration patterns

• Ask questions and escalate ambiguous or high-risk changes to senior engineers rather than guessing

• Quality and testing

• Write unit and component tests (Jest, React Native Testing Library) for code you author

• Participate in code review, both giving and receiving feedback

• Help maintain and use the Storybook component library for visual/snapshot checks

• Production support

• Assist with triaging and reproducing reported bugs and crashes under supervision

• Follow existing release and deployment processes (Bitrise, app-store submission) rather than owning them

• Collaboration

• Work within a distributed team, including onshore and offshore colleagues, communicating clearly in writing (tickets, PR descriptions, Teams)

• Participate in Agile ceremonies and Jira-based workflows

• Builder Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions using no-code, low-code, and advanced platforms, translating business needs into scalable applications that enhance products, workflows, and decision-making

• Comply with all applicable Company policies, procedures, and business directives, changes including those relating to work location, team assignments, work schedules, and flexible work arrangements

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, or equivalent experience through internships, coursework, bootcamp projects, or personal projects
• Working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and frontend fundamentals, including Angular components and templates, React components and hooks, state, props, and basic RxJS concepts
• Basic understanding of REST APIs (making requests, handling responses/errors)
• Familiarity with Git-based version control and pull request workflows
• Proven coursework, internships, bootcamp projects, or personal projects involving mobile or web app development are welcome in place of professional experience
• Proven comfortable using a debugger and reading error messages/stack traces to troubleshoot

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic familiarity with iOS or Android native development concepts; interest in accessibility (WCAG) or design systems
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum practices and Jira
• Exposure to Angular, Angular CLI, RxJS, NgRx, or shared component-library development
• Exposure to Angular unit testing with Jasmine/Karma or React Native testing with Jest and React Native Testing Library
• Exposure to testing tools such as Jest, React Native Testing Library, or Detox
• Exposure to healthcare, insurance, fintech, or another regulated data environment (not required)
• Exposure to React Native or a willingness to learn it quickly; prior React Native/Expo project work
• Proven coursework or personal projects using Expo or Expo Router

Working style

• Eagerness to learn an existing, complex codebase rather than build from scratch
• Comfortable asking for help and taking direction from senior engineers
• Clear written communication, useful for asynchronous collaboration with offshore teammates
• Ability to work onshore in the U.S. and to be granted PHI access under company policy
