Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Reliability Platform)

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer Backend (reliability Platform) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a regulated financial services environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $173,000 – $255,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for the engineering team
• Collaborate with product management and design throughout the product development lifecycle
• Proactively identify and lead efforts to resolve project or technology issues
• Monitor and support the availability of team artifacts and on-call operations
• Foster a culture of quality and ownership through improved coding standards
• Develop talent by providing feedback and guidance to team members

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a software engineer
• Proficient in backend system design using Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes
• Experience with declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue
• Familiarity with using AI frameworks to enhance automation and guidance
• Demonstrated ability to define technical plans for significant features or system components
