Senior Software Engineer, Backend/Fullstack (Coinbase Advisor - Agentic Trading)

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend/Fullstack (Coinbase Advisor - Agentic Trading) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role will focus on building and operating backend systems that support AI-driven trading experiences, with an emphasis on reliability, safety, and execution quality. You will work closely with product, engineering, and compliance partners to deliver customer-facing capabilities in a regulated environment. The position also involves shaping agent behavior, orchestrating tool use, and improving how recommendations are translated into accurate actions.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $186,065 – $218,900 annually

Responsibilities

• Own backend services from design through operation for an AI-driven trading experience.
• Build integrations with trading APIs to support accurate execution of agent recommendations.
• Develop the agentic harness for tool calling and orchestration.
• Shape agent behavior through prompt engineering and conversation analysis.
• Enhance service reliability, latency, and execution safety.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver customer-facing features within regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on backend systems.
• Strong expertise in API design, distributed systems, and data modeling.
• Proficiency in Go or a demonstrated ability to learn it quickly.
• Experience with production LLM or agentic systems, including orchestration and evaluation.
• Ability to manage ambiguous projects from inception to production with minimal oversight.
• Responsible use of generative AI, ensuring human oversight for quality outputs.
