About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop, optimize, and modernize backend cloud infrastructure and orchestration services. This role focuses on porting existing services to ARM64 platforms, improving virtual machine performance, and expanding virtualization capabilities across cloud infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in Linux systems programming, backend development, and virtualization technologies, with proficiency in Go, Python, and Perl. You will collaborate with infrastructure, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and QA teams to deliver reliable, high-performance services.

Key Responsibilities

• Refactor and port core orchestration services and features, including vbin, LSS, LDM, VMAP, and RS, to run natively on ARM64 platforms.
• Develop Python-based NUMA allocation logic to improve resource utilization and reduce cross-socket communication latency on high-core ARM systems.
• Develop and enhance backend APIs to support nested virtualization and new virtual machine instance plans.
• Maintain and modernize legacy services written in Perl while developing backend capabilities using Go and Python.
• Optimize Linux process management, memory allocation, CPU affinity, and system performance.
• Implement and maintain RESTful APIs and virtualization orchestration interfaces.
• Support virtual machine lifecycle management and infrastructure automation.
• Collaborate with SRE and QA teams to ensure service reliability, performance, and seamless deployment workflows.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and contribute to system stability and performance improvements.

Required Qualifications

• Experience developing backend software for cloud infrastructure platforms.
• Strong programming proficiency in Perl, Go (Golang), and Python.
• Deep understanding of Linux operating system internals, process management, and memory optimization.
• Knowledge of ARM64/AArch64 architecture and software development for ARM-based platforms.
• Understanding of NUMA memory allocation, CPU affinity, and performance optimization on multicore systems.
• Experience with virtualization technologies, VM lifecycle management, and orchestration APIs.
• Experience designing, developing, or maintaining RESTful APIs.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience porting or refactoring existing services for ARM64 environments.
• Familiarity with hypervisors and nested virtualization.
• Experience optimizing virtual machine performance on high-core-count systems.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure orchestration and resource allocation.
• Experience working with SRE, QA, and infrastructure engineering teams in production environments.
