Jeppesen Foreflight is seeking a Customer-Facing Software Application Developer for a position based in Gothenburg, Sweden.

About The Position The Production Configuration Services department is responsible for the configuration of our Planning & Operations products to airline customers and to make sure that we deliver solutions that our customers truly need. We do this in tight collaboration internally with the product development teams as well as with the client.

Position Responsibilities As a Software Application Developer, you will work closely with our clients and develop products and configure the application to their business environment. We are looking for team members with expertise in software development as well as showing strong communication and co-operation skills. The successful candidate is good at dealing with technical challenges and programming tasks as well as handling client expectations and building long-term customer relations.

• Works closely with our clients and other departments to configure and develop the solutions for our client’s business needs
• Performs requirements change assessment and provides a technical interface to requirement change-assessment meetings.
• Analyses software requirements, creates solution drafts and estimations, implements software changes.
• Helps resolve programmatic and technical problems that would impact cost, schedule and/or performance.
• Develops, maintains, and unit tests code. Develops/decomposes, documents, and maintains designs for software.
• Defines and implements system interfaces
• Participates in software integration efforts. Troubleshoots and investigates problems across software components.
• Develops, selects, tailors, and deploys processes and tools.
• Provide recommendations on software methodologies and processes to internal/external customers following best practices.
• Supports operational and integration issue resolution.
• Exploring and developing new ways to help our clients get increased value from the services we provide.

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

• 5+ years of working with software development and programming
• 5+ years of experience effectively working in a Linux/Unix environment
• experience working with Python
• Experience with development and administration in Linux systems in virtualized environments (OracleOS and/or RHEL)
• Managing a codebase and building pipelines, using a tool such as Git and GitLab/GitHub, or equivalent
• Must be legally able to work in Sweden
• Strong communication skills
• Advanced knowledge of the English language in both verbal and written communications

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience)

• MSc or BSc in Computer Science / Mathematics / Physics Engineering / Industrial Engineering or other equivalent professional Programing experience
• Experience working within an agile team
• Airline and specifically Crew and / or Operations planning experience
• Relational Database modelling experience
• PostgreSQL for db management
• Experience with development and administration in Linux systems in virtualized environments (OracleOS and/or RHEL is a plus)
• Test Driven Development, e. g. using tools such as Gherkin and Behave
• Experience with virtual machines and/or containerization, using tools such as Vagrant, VirtualBox, Docker, Kubernetes
• Experience with cloud IAAS/PAAS, using AWS, Azure or equivalent
• Building pipelines, using a tool such as GitLab
• Interfaces and data integration, Camel and XML
• Shell scripting
• Functional Programming expertise
• Ability to speak additional languages fluently
• AI Prompt Engineering
