Senior Software Engineer

This role is only open to people with Active SC and NPPV3 clearance

Futures are looking for an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer to support the development and deployment of software products within UK policing environments.

This is a hands-on development role for someone who can work autonomously within a secure environment, contributing across the product lifecycle from technical design and development through to deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy secure, scalable software solutions
• Build modern front-end applications using React
• Develop and integrate backend services and APIs
• Build and deploy cloud solutions within AWS
• Develop solutions using AWS Lambda and serverless architectures
• Support the deployment of software into secure UK policing environments
• Contribute to technical design and architectural decisions
• Work closely with product and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into working software
• Support the integration of LLM and AI capabilities where appropriate

Essential Experience

• Strong hands-on software engineering/development background
• Strong commercial experience with React
• Strong AWS experience
• Experience with AWS Lambda and serverless technologies
• Strong API development and integration experience
• Experience building and deploying production-grade software
• Comfortable operating independently in a senior, hands-on development role
• Active SC and NPPV3 clearance

Desirable Experience

• Experience integrating LLMs, Generative AI or AI services
• Previous experience delivering technology within UK policing
• Experience deploying applications into secure or highly regulated environments
• Knowledge of modern DevOps, CI/CD and cloud-native development practices
