Position Title: Senior Software Engineer

Location: San Ramon, CA (Onsite 5 Days/Week)

Duration: 12-Month Contract (Extension/Conversion Possible)

Compensation: $65-$85/hr

About the Role

A booming, leading retail and eCommerce organization is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to support critical order management and digital commerce initiatives. This individual will play a key role in building and enhancing the systems that power customer order fulfillment, inventory visibility, and international expansion efforts.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based microservices
• Support and enhance order management and eCommerce platforms
• Develop scalable, cloud-based solutions in AWS
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features and system improvements
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design initiatives
• Troubleshoot production issues and drive continuous platform improvements

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and microservices architecture
• Experience supporting retail, eCommerce, or store applications
• Experience with AWS (preferred) or GCP
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and cloud-native applications
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Experience with Order Management Systems (OMS)
• Blue Yonder OMS experience
• Background supporting omnichannel retail, fulfillment, or inventory management platforms
