We are looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer to join a Fixed Income Derivatives Technology team within a global investment banking environment.

You will work closely with Interest Rates Sales & Trading and Quantitative Strategists to develop next-generation risk management, pricing and trading systems.

The team operates one of the world's largest Scala-based technology projects , offering exposure to complex distributed systems and the full lifecycle of Interest Rate Derivatives trading.

This opportunity combines strategic platform modernisation, greenfield development and direct collaboration with front-office stakeholders.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop large-scale distributed systems for intraday and end-of-day risk calculations, P&L reporting and market scenario analysis.
• Build and enhance pricing and workflow applications supporting salespeople and traders.
• Contribute to greenfield initiatives modernising front-to-back risk scenario infrastructure, including FRTB-related systems .
• Improve market data and marking platforms within a strategic cross-asset technology environment.
• Design and develop robust APIs to make pricing and risk analytics accessible to internal applications and services.
• Collaborate with Sales, Trading, Quantitative Strategists, Operations, Controllers and Market Risk teams.
• Support technology solutions for Interest Rates and Macro trading businesses across EMEA.
• Take ownership of complex technical problems, from analysis and solution design through development and delivery.
• Contribute to software engineering best practices, performance improvements and continuous delivery.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or a related computational discipline.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to take ownership of complex technical challenges throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Strong interest in financial markets, trading technology and fixed income derivatives .
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders.

Particularly Valuable

• Experience developing applications using Java and/or Scala .
• Experience with distributed computing, cloud computing or performance optimisation .
• Knowledge of Fixed Income, Interest Rate Derivatives, financial models and risk management .
• Hands-on experience developing financial risk calculation systems, risk management platforms or trading tools.
• Experience designing APIs for complex enterprise applications.
• Full-stack development exposure, including HTML5, AngularJS, C++ or KDB/Q .
• Understanding of DevOps and CI/CD principles .
