Senior Software Engineer

Senior .Net Engineer (.NET/C#/Azure) | Malta | Hybrid | €60k-€80k

We’re working with a fast-growing consumer technology company who are looking to hire a Software Engineer with a Product first mindset to take full ownership of their in-house compliance platform

The platform is central to how the business protects its customers and meets regulatory obligations. Your job is to make it robust, scalable and ready for the business’s expansion into new international markets.

What you’ll be doing

• Owning the compliance platform end to end, from requirements to production and follow-up
• Working with compliance and AML stakeholders to turn loose requirements into clear, scoped work
• Translating regulatory requirements into rules, interventions and configuration that the compliance team can manage themselves
• Evolving the platform to support per-market configuration as new jurisdictions come on board
• Designing, building and testing backend services, with logging, metrics and alerting built in
• Using data to check that rules are working, and to find false positives, gaps and missed cases
• Making every automated decision explainable and auditable
• Supporting the compliance team through audits and regulator questions with clear technical answers

What you’ll bring

• Strong experience building production backend systems
• .NET/C# and Azure experience
• Confidence working directly with non-technical stakeholders
• Comfort with data: you write your own SQL and can tell from the numbers whether something is working
• A track record of building secure, stable and observable systems
• Curiosity and a willingness to learn.

Nice to have

• Experience in a regulated industry such as payments, fintech or financial services
• Exposure to AML or KYC controls
• Experience with rules engines, risk scoring or event-driven systems
