Senior Software Engineer

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a growing AI team, taking ownership of the application and integration layer behind a new generation of AI-powered products.

This is a hands-on, full-stack role combining Python, React, TypeScript, AWS, APIs and AI technologies , with the opportunity to influence technical decisions and architecture.

You’ll go beyond integrating AI models, designing and building the reliable, scalable systems and user experiences that bring AI products into production.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain production-grade Python services and scalable backend architectures.
• Develop MCP servers and agent-to-agent connectivity to support AI applications.
• Design secure REST and/or GraphQL APIs, including authentication, authorisation and streaming.
• Build and support distributed, event-driven systems and appropriate data architectures.
• Develop responsive frontend applications using React, TypeScript and JavaScript.
• Create AI-specific user experiences, including streaming responses, citations and error handling.
• Integrate internal platforms and third-party services securely.
• Support AWS deployments, CI/CD, automated testing and system monitoring.
• Take ownership of technical architecture, engineering standards and key decisions.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with Product, UX and Platform teams.

Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial experience in Python , building and supporting production backend services.
• Proven system design and architecture experience, including scalability, reliability and distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of APIs, asynchronous processing, concurrency and event-driven architecture.
• Experience developing production applications using React, TypeScript and JavaScript .
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases and data architecture.
• Solid AWS experience, ideally including Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, S3, CloudFront, Cognito and IAM.
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, observability and modern engineering practices.
• Ability to integrate systems securely and work collaboratively with Product and UX teams.
