Software Engineer (Full-Stack)

Location: London | Hybrid

The role

Our client is a well-established organisation building secure, internal-facing software for a specialist user base. They’re looking for a mid-level full-stack engineer to join a small product team and take real ownership of what it ships.

You’ll work across the frontend, backend and cloud infrastructure, and you’ll be responsible for your work in production as well as in development. The team is small, collaborative and works closely with security-minded colleagues, so quality and care matter here.

What you’ll do

• Build and improve web applications and services end to end
• Write clean, well-tested code and review others’ work
• Help run what the team builds, including monitoring, debugging and responding to issues
• Work with product, security and operational colleagues to turn unusual problems into practical solutions
• Contribute to infrastructure and deployment pipelines
• Share what you know, and learn from the engineers around you

What you’ll bring

• Solid experience building cloud-hosted web applications in a modern typed language, ideally TypeScript and NodeJS
• Comfort across frontend and backend work
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code
• Good grasp of relational databases (PostgreSQL) and sensible data modelling
• Day-to-day use of code review, automated testing, CI/CD and version control
• Experience supporting live software, including logging, metrics and incident handling
• Care in handling confidential or sensitive information
• Ability to work with technical and non-technical colleagues, and to stay steady when requirements are unclear
• Interest in mentoring and being mentored

Nice to have: experience with GraphQL, React or Python.
