I’m working with a leading global technology organisation seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join its Disputes technology team in Dublin.

This is an opportunity to work on business-critical financial technology, developing scalable and resilient backend services that support the end-to-end dispute lifecycle in a complex, regulated environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing and maintaining high-quality backend services and APIs, taking ownership of features from initial design through deployment and production support.

You will work closely with Product, Architecture and Platform teams to improve system performance, reliability and engineering efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build scalable microservices and distributed systems.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and event-driven integrations.
• Develop workflow-driven solutions supporting dispute initiation, progression, resolution and arbitration.
• Contribute to system architecture, performance optimisation and production support.
• Apply CI/CD, automated testing and DevOps best practices.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and conduct root cause analysis.
• Drive AI-assisted software development using tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude to improve coding, testing and delivery.

Essential Skills

• Strong backend software development experience using Java and Spring Boot, or similar technologies.
• Proven experience designing and building microservices architectures.
• Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools within the software development lifecycle.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, distributed systems and relational or NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of Agile, CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and experience supporting production systems.

Desirable Experience

• Workflow engines or state-machine-based processing.
• AWS or Azure cloud platforms.
• Observability, monitoring and production resilience.
• Experience in financial services or other regulated environments.
