Senior Software Engineer

Job Title: Python Full Stack Developer Location Plano TX 3x a week hybrid Job Type: W2 , Contract Duration: 12+ Months Skill Set Preferences: Python, Go, JS, React; AWS (ECS, RDS), Docker, CI/CD; MCP & Agentic AI solution design & automation; AI coding (Claude Code, Codex); CloudWatch, New Relic & API

This is a small, fast-moving team that builds internal tools to reduce engineering toil. One example is Slack notifications that pull together information from different sources. The team prototypes and ships in weeks, not months.

What They Ll Do

• APIs and data (~50%): API development, data and schema design, pipelines, integrations
• CI/CD and compliance (~25%): pipelines, vulnerability and compliance remediation
• Frontend and other (~25%): React work, troubleshooting, support
• Support hours: occasional on-call coverage between about 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. There is typically no overnight coverage.

Must-haves

• Strong backend engineering in Python, which is where all new development happens
• AWS
• SQL and data/schema design
• CI/CD
• Hands-on daily use of AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Copilot or Windsurf. Claude Code is especially relevant. Probe how they actually use these tools, not just whether they list them.
• Comfortable working independently with limited documentation and learning quickly
• Strong communicator who can present demos and build buy-in with other teams

Nice-to-haves

• React. It s under 25% of the work, so strong backend candidates with light frontend experience are still viable.
• Agentic AI or MCP experience
• Observability tools such as Splunk or New Relic
• Go
• Java. It s legacy maintenance only, so don t source Java-primary profiles.
